Tozeur weather in February

Tunisia's forum flags September broadly as the sweet spot once the brutal July/August heat has broken along the coast, though inland desert towns like Tozeur run considerably hotter than the beach resorts most of these threads focus on - one poster cited an average August high around 39.5C for the Tozeur desert specifically, with September expected to ease off from there but stay firmly in oven territory. Rain is genuinely rare here even as coastal Tunisia starts seeing occasional showers, since Tozeur's desert climate barely registers measurable rainfall most of the year. Dress for intense sun and very low humidity rather than anything resembling a Mediterranean autumn.

Forum posters describe March as mild on average (highs around 19C) but genuinely unstable day to day - warm before noon, chilly after sunset, with the possibility of 'all four seasons in one day.' Technically still winter by the Tunisian calendar, so posters say to expect either lucky mild, sunny stretches or a run of properly bad weather, with a jumper or light jacket for evenings recommended regardless. For Tozeur specifically, posters consistently name it the best base for Sahara day trips - Chott el Djerid, Chebika, the Star Wars filming locations, and Mides Canyon all get mentioned as reachable outings from town, though posters do flag that spring sandstorms (more of an April risk than March) can occasionally shut down desert excursions entirely.
