About SeasonMap

SeasonMap is a climate-first travel map. Pick a month and the kind of trip you want — beach, city walking, hiking, or snow — and it ranks destinations around the world by how good the weather actually tends to be, then explains why each one scored the way it did.

How it works

Scores are built on multi-decade climate normals — typical temperature, rainfall, humidity, sunshine, wind, and air quality for each month — sourced from Open-Meteo (ERA5 reanalysis). These are historical averages that describe a typical season, not a forecast, so always check a current forecast before you travel. Every score shows the numbers behind it, so you can judge for yourself.

Why we built it

Most weather tools tell you what it's like in one place. SeasonMap answers the question you actually have when planning a trip: where should I go this month — and when is each place at its best?

Who makes it

SeasonMap is an independent software product. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any government, airline, or weather agency. The climate data come from public sources (see above); the comfort scores are our own estimates.
