Rovinj weather in February

Venice in February is cold but dry — the forum calls it one of the two driest months of the year, with highs around 10°C and the caveat that it can equally be misty, wet or brightly sunny, just never warm. Two February-specific things dominate the threads: Carnival, which regulars love but describe as leaving the city unbelievably crowded and frenetic, and acqua alta, the tidal flooding that's usually short-lived and rather fascinating the first time — provided you have high boots.

One local calls May their favourite month here - fresh and green, the season just starting, service better than it will be later - and regulars back the shoulder-season read: busy in the day with tour groups, quiet in the mornings and at night, nothing like June through August. The sea is not what ends the season here.
