Visas & entry
A first-hand tip for the train ride from Geneva to Montreux: sit on the right-hand side of the carriage for the best views of Lake Geneva along the way, rather than leaving it to chance once boarded. For the Montreux Jazz Festival in July, their advice was that most of the festival grounds along the lakeside promenade are free to wander, with paid tickets only required for the two biggest concert halls, so a festival visit doesn't have to mean an expensive one.
