Visum & inresa

A traveler exploring Antalya's Kaleiçi Old Town describes Mermerli Beach as a genuinely hidden find - a small city beach tucked beside the harbor, reached through an easy-to-miss passage next to the busy Kaleiçi Marina, offering a real Mediterranean swim with the old city walls rising directly above. She specifically recommends going early morning for a quiet swim before the beach fills up later in the day. She describes wandering Kaleiçi's cobblestone streets more broadly as consistently rewarding, with hidden corners, small restaurants and postcard-worthy views turning up around nearly every turn, and rates the Old Town as the best base for staying in Antalya given its boutique hotels and easy walkability. She's direct about the tradeoff, though: staying inside Kaleiçi itself can mean real noise at night, with street musicians and bar crowds carrying on well past midnight in the busier lanes. Posters generally recommend Kaleiçi for its charm and beach access, while suggesting a room slightly off the main nightlife streets specifically for travelers prioritizing sleep over proximity to the bars.

Resenärernas anteckningar om Antalya

Vad de som har varit där säger om platsen — anteckningarna som gäller året runt först, sedan månad för månad.

Forum posters put March air temperatures around 18C with roughly 100mm of rain across the month and about 7 hours of daily sunshine - the sea itself sits at its coldest, around 16C, in early March. Posters call the month genuinely pleasant for sunbathing on a good day, though a hoodie or light jumper is needed in shade or under cloud, and more days lean toward sunbathing weather than not despite the real rain chance. The clear consensus: not a beach-and-pool holiday month, but a strong one for sightseeing and exploring the historical sites around Antalya, with noticeably lower prices and thinner crowds than peak summer as the trade-off for skipping the beach.

Regulars are specific that the last week of this month is the real sweet spot for using both the beach and unheated pools without the scorching heat that arrives later in summer, water warming appreciably between mid-month and the end of it. Our row backs that warm, still-mild read, 26.7C reading as a hot 28C, over 16.3C nights, with 44.9mm of rain across 5.1 days and humidity at 63 percent. Regulars are consistent early in the month can be genuinely hit or miss, some showers still possible, so visitors with flexible dates are advised to lean as late in the month as they can. The sea sits at a cool 21.1C, still on the brisk side for a long swim early on. The record: 12.3 hours of sun, a 13 kph wind and AQI 57.

The Antalya forum splits June down the middle. Early June is the recommendation - very nice and warm without being punishing, the sea already comfortable for swimming from late May, and beaches and hotels quieter because Turkish schools have not broken up. From then on it climbs: late June runs considerably warmer, some years past 34C, and full season arrives with it. Posters put the month's average maximum around 31C with a sea near 25C, which is close to what our own row computes. The record: 31.6C days that feel like 34C, 20.9C nights, 2.7 precipitation days, humidity 57 percent, 13.5 hours of sun and a 24.9C sea.

July in Antalya is a heat you plan around rather than tolerate. Regulars give daily maxima of 32 to 34C with heatwaves pushing near 40 - our row says 35.7C, reading as 39C - and are careful to say those are shade figures, with the sun a different matter again, and the evenings staying very warm. Their verdict splits on what you came for. If the holiday is water-based it works: everywhere is air-conditioned, the sea is around 28C by midsummer, and a proper siesta in the middle of the day makes it manageable. If you came to sightsee, several say plainly they would not do July or August again. Rain is nil at 1.4mm. The record: 24.7C nights, humidity 48 percent and 13.5 hours of sun.

Antalya-forum threads asking for an honest opinion on August temperatures don't sugarcoat it: hotel displays regularly show 40C and up, with some accounts describing direct-sun readings as high as 50C, though that extreme is less common than the consistent mid-30s most days. Posters contrast it with July, which runs hot too but as a drier heat that's called more bearable than August's added humidity. The standing coping strategy: expect to adjust after a day or two, treat 11am to 4pm as shade-or-indoors time, and lean on hotel air conditioning for a break. Excursions are called a bad idea in this window entirely. Regulars who return every summer regardless call it hot but never genuinely unbearable. The record: 34.3C days feeling like a sticky 37C, 24.7C nights, essentially none at all, a 30.9C sea, humidity a relatively low 57 percent and 12.4 hours of sun.

Antalya's forum consistently rates late September as close to ideal — warm days without July and August's peak heat, and a sea still warm enough for comfortable swimming. Regulars note humidity drops off noticeably as the month goes on, making the back half more comfortable than the first.

Regulars are specific that this coast treats October as still summer rather than a shoulder season - hot enough at midday that walking around in the sun isn't comfortable - with the official season only ending on the 31st, after which hotels switch to a winter setup and close their waterslides. Our row backs the lingering heat, 27.8C reading as a real 28C, over 16.9C nights, with 50.9mm of rain across 4.3 days. Regulars are clear evenings do cool down enough to notice, especially sitting outside, so a light layer for dinner is worth packing even on a hot-feeling day. The sea stays warm and swimmable at 26.7C right through the month. The record: humidity 62 percent, 9.8 hours of sun, an 11.8 kph wind and AQI 44.
