It does not rain every day, and when it does it is rarely the tropical squall people picture; the real humidity does not bite until July. Kagoshima and nearby Fukuoka are specifically named among the warmer regions of Japan where cherry blossoms can still be seen into early April, later than in cooler parts of the country.
