Forum posters consistently name December through February as the best weather window across Myanmar, with January specifically described as dry, not too hot or humid, and bringing very little rain - genuinely ideal conditions by the country's standards. Posters do flag January as high season with real tourist crowds, recommending advance booking given the demand, and note that budget-conscious travelers might prefer visiting Mawlamyine specifically between June and August instead, when hotel prices run noticeably lower even though conditions are hotter and more humid then. Posters generally rate January as the more comfortable but pricier and busier choice, versus the cheaper, hotter wet-season alternative later in the year.
