March gets a good press on the Punta Cana forum on the two questions people actually ask. Sargassum: regulars report not much of it in February and March, with the bad stretch usually running May to September - though they add that it is hard to predict, differs year to year, and differs between beaches along a coast this long. Spring break: mid-March to mid-April, but Punta Cana is not the spring-break magnet Cancun is, and the adults-only and higher-end resorts barely feel it.
