Rain shows up regularly but posters were clear it's not an all-day, every-day thing, and the prevailing northerly wind is the bigger factor in how cold a day actually feels. For a rainy day, several people pointed to Portimão's indoor shopping malls, while clear days are good for trips inland to Silves, Monchique or the Foia mountain. Most cafes and restaurants stay open through the off-season.
