The strongest argument regulars make for April here is about an insect. May is the month Skye-forum regulars name when someone asks how to miss the midges: they need warmth to get going and generally do not until June or July, and posters who have walked the worst-known spots in early May report none at all. May and June are also the island's better weather months, with May usually the least wet of the year - though Skye is big and mountainous enough to make its own weather regardless of any forecast.
