Getting around
A guide to reaching Cascais from Lisbon recommends the direct train from Cais do Sodré, running every 12-20 minutes and taking about 40 minutes for €2.30 one-way (free with the Lisboa Card), dropping you within walking distance of the old town and beaches. Their scenic tip: sit on the left-hand side of the train heading out to Cascais for the coastal views along the way, and on the right-hand side coming back, since the route hugs the water on one side only.
