Eighteen hours of daylight, 21°C days. The catch is that quite a few restaurants and cafés do not open until mid-June, so early June trades company for closures. The other timing note: Visby's Medieval Week — authentic dress, feasts and jousting inside the 13th-century walls — is an August event, not a June one.
A Gotland forum thread put it well: December here is dark, wet, and windy, and any snow that falls before Christmas usually doesn't stick around - more often it turns to sleet or freezing rain before it can settle. That matches what the numbers show: barely six and a half hours of daylight and less than two hours of actual sunshine most days, with highs only just above freezing. Visby's medieval old town still looks beautiful under string lights, but pack a proper waterproof coat over a snow jacket - you're more likely to be walking through slush than powder.
