旧金山每个月是什么样子

由 SeasonMap 编辑根据当地实际情况写成——不是从平均值推算出来的。

  1. 1月

The wettest month, with Pacific storms one after another and the hills going green. The light between them is exceptional.

    low season

  2. 2月

Wet and green, and the earliest blossom of any big American city: plum and magnolia right through the month.

    blossomlow season

  3. 3月

The rain eases and wildflowers come out on the headlands. Windy, bright and cool.

    blossomshoulder

  4. 4月

Dry, clear and comfortable, with the grey whale migration passing outside the Golden Gate.

    shoulder

  5. 5月

Warm inland, cool and windy in the city, and the fog starting to build along the coast.

    shoulder

  6. 6月

Fog season. The city can sit under low cloud all day while it is fifteen degrees warmer an hour inland.

    low season

  7. 7月

The foggiest month, and the one that catches visitors out: grey and cold on the coast while the inland valleys bake.

    low season

  8. 8月

Still foggy, breaking up towards the end of the month, and the ocean is at its coldest here in high summer.

    low season

  9. 9月

The fog lifts and the city finally gets its summer: the warmest, clearest month of the year.

    peak

  10. 10月

The other warm clear month, and the best of the two, with the last of the outdoor season before the rain.

  11. 11月

The rain returns, the light goes low and gold and the city gets its first properly cold nights.

  12. 12月

Wet and dark, with storms off the Pacific and the shortest days of the year, but almost never a frost.

行李怎么带

A local writer addresses a specific tourist mistake head-on: visitors expecting a warm California summer are routinely caught off guard by San Francisco's actual July conditions, a high around 67F and low around 54F, often under thick fog rather than sunshine. She explains this isn't uniform across the city - due to the fog's coastal behavior, you can be genuinely shivering at the Golden Gate Bridge and, twenty minutes later, sweating in shorts in the Mission District, since inland neighborhoods can run 20+ degrees warmer than coastal ones on the same afternoon. She specifically flags Fisherman's Wharf, the departure point for most Alcatraz tours, as one of the cooler, foggier spots in the city thanks to onshore breezes, meaning a warm layer is worth carrying even if it's sunny elsewhere in town that day. Posters generally recommend April-May or September-October as the more reliably mild windows if minimizing fog is a priority, and packing real layers regardless of which month a summer visit falls in.

旧金山的旅人笔记

去过的人怎么说——先是全年通用的笔记,再逐月来看。

"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." — attributed to Mark Twain The best time to visit San Francisco is late September through October, when it is relatively the warmest. All year long, it never gets too cold for winter clothing, and it rarely gets warm enough for shorts and sandals. You will typically need a sweater after sunset, and a windbreaker if you're out by the western part of the peninsula. Prepare to dress in layers to adequately face the microclimates––wind and temperature conditions can change within less than a mile's walk. San Francisco has a mild climate, with cool, wet winters and dry summers. In most months, you can expect the high temperature to be in the upper 50s, 60s or low 70s °F (15-25 °C). However, these mild temperature readings belie a unique climate not shared by other major cities in the state or country. Summer days usually start out under fog, slowly burning off towards the ocean into a sunny albeit windy afternoon.…

San Francisco forum regulars describe February as storm-and-clear, not steady rain: winter here comes in “discrete storms lasting a few days followed by clear weather,” roughly 40% rainy at most, with shorter storms than January. Expect “lows in the 40s at night” and “50s during the day” — layers from polar fleece to a light winter jacket, plus an umbrella and windbreaker for when a storm rolls through. The upside regulars keep repeating: smaller crowds and very low rates. One practical warning for anyone adding Big Sur — Pacific storms this month can close stretches of Highway 1 to rock slides. Our record: 15.3°C days, 6.4°C nights, 5.8 rain days and an 11.2°C sea — cool and mostly dry, with real storm risk stacked into a handful of days rather than spread evenly.

Forum posters describe March as one of the most changeable months in San Francisco - it could be warm, cold or rainy, with morning lows typically in the mid-to-upper 40sF and afternoon highs in the low-to-mid 60sF. Posters are consistent that any lingering rain is generally the tail end of the rainy season, with the major winter storms usually done by late March, though posters note it doesn't necessarily turn warm either - even in a typical year, only 2-3 days in the back half of the month might bring genuinely warm weather. Posters consistently emphasize real block-to-block variability, with temperatures feeling 5-10 degrees different between a sunny and shady side of the same street, and a 70F day cooling down to 50F by night. Posters generally recommend serious layers plus a lightweight raincoat regardless of the specific forecast.

San Francisco in June is the city's famous trap: an average high near 22°C, "June gloom" along the coast, and micro-climates sharp enough that Union Square runs noticeably warmer than the waterfront while the Golden Gate Bridge stays cool and breezy whatever the rest of the city is doing. The forum's answer is always the same word — layers. A t-shirt or long sleeves by day, a sweater or jacket by evening, good shoes for the walking; regulars note most people here don't wear shorts or sandals. The one thing June won't hand you is rain: it is among the driest months of the year.

San Francisco-forum threads on July fog are consistent: this is the deepest fog season of the year, especially near the water, and the pattern is for it to clear downtown and most neighborhoods by late morning before rolling back in during late afternoon - though how much any given day burns off depends entirely on which part of the city you're in. Posters are firm that this isn't something to plan around avoiding; it's part of what the city is in summer, and it doesn't stop sightseeing. The advice is uniform: long pants and a jacket, dressed in layers. The record explains why the fog wins: 19.1C days, 12.6C nights, essentially no precipitation across the whole month, and a 14.8C sea - San Francisco's summer is dry, cool and grey rather than the postcard version most visitors expect.

I recently learned that "The coldest winter I experienced was a [summer/August... sources differ] spent in San Francisco" is apocryphal Mark Twain, but having just experienced San Francisco in August, I'm going to pretend I don't have that info. Brr! That fog does not play.

San Francisco-forum threads on September weather are consistently upbeat, calling it one of the better months of the year here, mild days in the 70s once morning fog burns off by late morning most days. Posters describe the fog itself as a near-daily fixture along the waterfront and bridge in the early hours, thinning out by 11am before a clear, mild afternoon takes over. The summer fog pattern that keeps downtown cool in June and July has largely broken by this point, and the heavier weather systems that arrive later in autumn haven't started yet, leaving September genuinely dependable. Regulars still recommend layers over shorts, since spots right on the water - the Wharf, Ocean Beach, the bridge itself - run noticeably cooler than the rest of the city regardless of the season. The record: 21.6C days feeling like 21C, 14C nights, just 2.5mm across 0.5 days, a 16.8C sea, 75 percent humidity and 11.2 hours of sun.

September and October are the actual summer — the fog retreats and it's 22°C and clear. June and July are the grey ones, whatever the latitude suggests. Always carry a layer; crossing from the Mission to Ocean Beach can cost you ten degrees.
SeasonMap · 9月 · 9 天前
San Francisco's forum rates October as one of the nicest months of the year — an average high near 70°F with comparatively little fog or rain compared to summer. Regulars flag the city's microclimates as the real variable: neighborhoods near the bay or ocean stay cooler and windier while inland pockets like the Mission run noticeably sunnier, so days can swing from the 50s to 80s°F depending on where in the city you are.

Someone asked what time of day the fog rolls in during late December and got corrected, repeatedly: "fog is more of a summer phenomenon. It is more about clouds and rain in winter." One poster explains the mechanism — "fog is a function of the cold air over the Pacific being drawn to hot inland temps; in winter inland temps aren't hot, and ergo no typical fog" — so if December fog appears at all, it "usually doesn't roll in until around or after dark." What replaces it is storms, and the honest answer to any timing question in December is "it depends entirely on the storms, not time of day." Regulars suggest a Golden Gate webcam over a forecast. The other thing to plan for: "dark is pretty early, around 5pm." Our record: 12 rain days, 126mm, 9.6 daylight hours.
