签证与入境
We chose a hotel right off Parque Calderón and it made the whole trip easier, everything in the historic center within walking distance and evenings spent on the riverfront walkway along the Tomebamba watching the sunset. At 2,560 meters the altitude here is gentler than Cusco or La Paz, but we still took it easy the first day and drank more water than usual just in case. A day trip out to Gualaceo and Chordeleg for handwoven textiles and silver jewelry was worth the detour, and four days total felt like the right length for the city plus one excursion into the Cajas highlands.
昆卡的旅人笔记
去过的人怎么说——先是全年通用的笔记,再逐月来看。
Forum advice for the Sierra region in March lines up closely with Cuenca's own numbers: sunny mornings giving way to overcast, showery afternoons, with nights cool enough to want a sweater (around 50-55F) and days comfortable in a light jacket (mid-60s F). Cuenca's high elevation means it rarely gets properly hot even at midday. Multiple posters recommended packing in layers and always carrying a light rain jacket, since a clear morning can turn into an afternoon shower with almost no warning - locals just wait it out under a café awning rather than change plans.
Forum posters describe Cuenca's roughly 8,400-foot elevation and near-equatorial location as producing genuinely fast-changing weather essentially year-round, September included - bright sunshine can give way to a hail or rain shower within an hour, and back again. Posters consistently recommend light layers that work as both sun protection during the day and a barrier against the evening chill, since temperatures drop noticeably fast around sunset (roughly 6:30pm). Average highs stay fairly consistent across the year at around 70F with lows near 50F, so September doesn't represent a dramatically different month climate-wise from the rest of the year - the defining feature is the day-to-day and hour-to-hour unpredictability rather than a distinct seasonal shift.
