August is the Spanish month: the schools are off, Spanish families take over, and the old town is where they go - so the British bars and clubs are quiet, there are no stags or hens, and the atmosphere is a family one. July in Benidorm is hot and full, and the forum's regulars are matter-of-fact about both. Expect 30 to 33C in the shade, occasionally mid-30s, and noticeably more humidity than May or September.
