The forum also calls October the area's wettest month, which is worth reading carefully: counted in rainy days October is mid-pack here, drier than March, December or January. The two claims reconcile in how the rain arrives — short, sharp autumn showers rather than long drizzly spells, so a lot of water on not many days.
