The lagoon and green mountains are still described as beautiful this time of year, just approached as a scenic off-season visit rather than a beach holiday.

Forum posters call September close to perfect - hot days in the mid-30sC without feeling stuffy, sea water warm from a full season of sun, and evenings mild enough for shorts and a t-shirt even after dark (nearby Hisaronu runs a bit cooler at night). Late September/early October gets specifically recommended as quieter than the July/August peak while bars, restaurants and tours mostly stay open through the end of October, partly thanks to UK school half-term travel and the paragliding championships.
