Forum posters describe August as nominally the middle of the dry season, but at least one visitor reported near-daily afternoon rain for almost two weeks despite that - a reminder that the 'dry' label doesn't guarantee dry days here. High wind and rough seas can also cancel dive boats on a given day. One geographic tip that comes up often: staying out on the islands (Bunaken, Siladen, Gangga) rather than the Manado mainland tends to mean less rain exposure. Regardless of the weather, posters are clear diving itself isn't much affected since you're wet either way, and Bunaken National Marine Park remains the headline draw for both diving and snorkeling day trips.
