May itself is described as pleasantly quiet before the summer break crowds arrive, warm water temperatures rising through the month, and lower rainfall odds than most of the year barring a stray nearby storm. Posters recommend it specifically for diving and snorkeling given the combination of good visibility, comfortable conditions and thinner crowds compared to the busier winter high season.
