First-time visitors to Yerevan recommend getting a local SIM card at the airport before doing anything else, since ride-hailing apps like Yandex Go and GG are by far the most reliable way to get around the city and need a working data connection and a paired card to function. They found fixed, upfront pricing through these apps far less stressful than negotiating with street taxis, and suggest setting the apps up on your phone before you land if possible.

Posters are consistent that the city itself usually stays snow-free by March, even though the surrounding highlands can hold snow until April, and consistently recommend warm coats, gloves and caps alongside versatile layers and boots just in case. Posters describe a genuine reward for a late-March visit specifically: apricot trees beginning to blossom and gardens coming into bloom around the city.
