Khao Sokの旅行者の声

January is inside Khao Sok's dry season, November to April, and the forum attaches a caveat this note has to keep: a large part of this is rainforest, so expect rain even in the dry. What January reliably is, is warm - high 20s to low 30s by day out on the lake and mid-20s at night in the raft houses, hot and humid rather than cool. Two things follow from the dry season. Water levels on Cheow Lan are low, which the boat tours work around, and the Nam Talu cave, which is genuinely dangerous when it rains, is usually fine now. The record: 30.8C days that feel like 35C, 22.6C nights, 9.7 precipitation days carrying 78.3mm, humidity 80 percent and 9.8 hours of sun.

Khao Sok-forum threads on storm icons are direct: a dramatic-looking forecast symbol doesn't necessarily mean real rain, posters calling the actual chance of a wash-out day here usually low despite how ominous a weather app can look. Regulars call February squarely outside the region's double monsoon window, both coastal systems that affect Khao Sok generally quiet this time of year. Posters describe daytime readings as climbing into the low thirties by late February, genuinely warm for jungle activity and lake excursions. Regulars call air quality here reliably good regardless of season, the park's remote setting away from agricultural burning a real advantage. Posters recommend real sun protection and hydration for any full-day boat trip on Cheow Lan Lake. Regulars call a passing shower here typically short and heavy rather than a sustained soak. The record: 32.6C days feeling like a punishing 37C, 22.6C nights, 39.7mm across nearly 8 days and 74 percent humidity.

Khao Sok-forum threads on a March visit describe temperatures as genuinely climbing toward thirty-five degrees by late March into early April, posters naming rising humidity alongside the heat as standard this time of year. Regulars call Sok River levels genuinely dropping, several posters naming narrowing river-activity options as a real consequence of the drier season. Posters call unexpected rain still genuinely possible despite officially being dry season, one poster recalling cancellations twice in a single March trip due to sudden downpours. Regulars call March through May a real strong window for wildlife viewing, several threads naming the shores of Cheow Lan Lake specifically as where sightings concentrate. Posters recommend real flexible plans around river activities for a March trip, several regulars calling this standard given how much water levels and weather can shift. The record: 34C days, 23.7C nights, 72.4mm across 11 days and 74 percent humidity.

Khao Sok-forum threads on April conditions describe this as the tail end of the pre-monsoon stretch, posters calling heat and humidity genuinely intense before the heaviest rains return. Regulars describe afternoon thunderstorms as increasingly common through the month, brief but sometimes heavy downpours a real possibility. Posters recommend real hydration and sun protection, the combination of heat and thick jungle humidity making exertion feel considerably harder than the raw temperature suggests. Regulars call an early start essential for the lake tour and jungle trekking both, cooler morning hours far more comfortable than a midday push. Posters describe the limestone karst scenery on Cheow Lan Lake as worth the trip regardless of heat. Regulars recommend flexible plans given how quickly an afternoon system can build. The record: 32.7C days feeling like a punishing 39C, 24.6C nights, an extraordinarily high 176.9mm across over 21 days and 82 percent humidity.

Forum posters are direct that June brings a real chance of rain most days here, typically as an hour or so of downpour once or twice a day rather than sustained all-day rain, with decent weather still possible around the showers. Posters note some cave treks close specifically when trails get too wet, though most activities - including floating house stays and lake boat tours - remain workable with flexible planning around the rain. Posters describe June's rain as coming in short, heavy bursts typical of wet-season Thailand, calling the odds of a fully dry day genuinely low but not ruling out decent stretches of weather within an otherwise rainy month.

Khao Sok-forum threads on an August visit describe this as genuinely the middle of wet season, posters calling the rainforest park prone to real closures on trails the park authority deems unsuitable after heavy showers. Regulars call afternoon or evening the typical timing for showers, short but intense bursts cited repeatedly rather than an all-day washout. Posters call trekking trails genuinely prone to closure this month, leeches a real factor on whatever sections stay open. Regulars call longtail boat trips still running though capable of being cancelled or cut short depending on conditions that day. Posters recommend real waterproof gear and flexible plans regardless of exact August dates, one regular noting the lake's water level and clarity were genuinely excellent for rafting despite the season. The record: 29.2C days feeling like 34C, 24.3C nights, an extraordinarily high 273.3mm across over 26 days and 87 percent humidity.

Khao Sok-forum threads asking whether the wetter season is worth it come back strongly positive, posters calling the jungle genuinely at its most vivid this time of year, waterfalls running at full force and the park noticeably quieter than peak season. Regulars describe a typical day as sunny mornings giving way to a real afternoon or evening downpour, though experience varies wildly, one visitor reporting only half an hour of rain a day while another the following week hit a much wetter stretch. September is named among the wettest months here, real planning flexibility standing advice given how unpredictable week-to-week conditions run. Posters call the lake mist and jungle atmosphere genuinely dramatic, a real payoff for travelers willing to accept the risk. Regulars recommend a floating bungalow stay as a highlight regardless of conditions. The record: 28.8C days feeling like a punishing 34C, 23.9C nights, an extraordinarily high 347mm across over 27 days and 91 percent humidity.

Khao Sok's forum calls December squarely in the dry season, which runs through to April — regulars staying in the park's treehouses report warm days in the high 20s to low 30s°C and mild nights in the low-to-mid 20s. It's a genuinely humid rainforest even in the drier months, so don't expect crisp, dry air — just a lot less rain than the wet season that runs mid-April to early December.
