Visti e ingresso
Arriving at the Kasbah of the Udayas early meant we had the white-and-blue walls almost to ourselves, gold morning light on the stone and shopkeepers just starting to open up. The medina here felt noticeably calmer and easier to navigate than Marrakech's, especially wandering down Rue des Consuls for spices and brassware without the constant hassle. We used the city tram to hop between the medina, the Kasbah, and the Hassan district for just a few dirhams a ride, which beat waiting for taxis. One tip that saved us a fall: the polished stone near the mosques gets slick after the nightly hose-down, so rubber-soled shoes were the right call.
Note dei viaggiatori su Rabat
Cosa dice chi c'è stato: prima le note valide tutto l'anno, poi mese per mese.
Forum posters describe Rabat's climate as consistent through the year, with summers described as far from scorching and rain concentrated mainly October through March - meaning May should sit comfortably in the drier, milder half of the year. Posters discussing Morocco more broadly in May describe conditions as generally neither too hot nor too cold, though a late-May heatwave is a real possibility some years, with one recent traveler specifically encountering an early heatwave with hot, dry days throughout an end-of-May Morocco trip that included Rabat. Posters generally recommend May as a reasonably safe bet for Rabat specifically, while flagging that an unusually early heatwave can still happen given the country's real year-to-year variability.
Forum posters describe Rabat's winter weather as considerably milder than the UK or continental Europe, with daytime temperatures holding fairly steady around 15C, though evenings turn genuinely cold and rainy enough to warrant thick socks, a heavy jacket and a sweater. Posters specifically flag that many Rabat apartments lack central heating, recommending a portable heater or similar arrangement for indoor comfort. Posters discussing Morocco's wider November pattern describe it as a changeable month - historically one of the wettest of the year - but note that whenever the sun does appear, midday and early afternoon still turn genuinely pleasant despite the cold-country-hot-sun character of a Moroccan winter. Posters generally rate November as mild by day, cold and often wet by evening for Rabat, indoor heating arrangements worth sorting out in advance.
