Oman's forum is direct that September still runs hot and stifling for much of the country, Sur included, with daytime temperatures commonly landing in the low-to-high 30s C and nights only cooling into the high 20s. Forum posters describe March conditions across Oman as genuinely variable - some reports of a lovely, sunny 30C, others of hazy, humid stretches pushing 35-40C with fog or cloud - but generally settled enough for comfortable pool time, sightseeing and outdoor evening dining. Posters specifically flag Sur and nearby Ras Al Jinz as running noticeably cooler than Muscat at the same time of year, thanks to headland breezes off the coast that Muscat itself doesn't get. Posters note the desert's storm season doesn't typically kick in until later in March into summer proper, so early-to-mid March stays comparatively calm. Overall, posters rate March as a good month for this part of the Omani coast, with Sur's coastal position a real advantage over the capital's heat.
