July on Rhodes is two islands, and the dividing line is the meltemi. The wind blows from about mid-June to mid-September and is at its strongest in July and August, and it lands on the Aegean side: the west coast is windier and regulars put it near 28C in the shade, while the east, which the meltemi largely misses, can feel 35C - Lindos being the name they give for that. Our row's 30.8C and 22.5 kph is the island average between them. The practical reading is that the windy side is the tolerable side in this month, and higher ground is better again. Rain is effectively nil at 0.7mm. The record: 24.7C nights, humidity 73 percent, 13.3 hours of sun, a 26.1C sea and AQI 81.

Marmaris forum posters describe March as a genuine coin-flip month: warm and sunny stretches alternate with days of proper rain, and one traveler mentioned being confined to their hotel for a stretch of torrential downpours before the sun came back out. Evenings turn chilly regardless of how the day went, so a layer is worth carrying even on a nice afternoon. Most restaurants and bars away from the immediate beachfront stay open through the off-season, so there's no shortage of places to wait out a rainy spell - just don't expect beach weather to hold for a whole week straight.
Forum posters describe early September as still genuinely hot - mid-to-high 30sC - cooling gradually to the low 30sC by month's end, with sea and pool water staying nicely warm after a full summer of sun. By around the third week, posters note nights start cooling enough that air conditioning becomes unnecessary, and a cardigan may be useful for the very end of the month. Weather is described as largely excellent but genuinely 'hit or miss' at times, with occasional torrential storms (thunder and lightning) reported, though these clear within hours rather than settling in. The overall consensus: September ranks among the best months to visit, with comfortable day and night temperatures plus better bargains once school-age tourists have gone home.
