Traveller notes on San Pedro
What people who have been say about the place — the year-round notes first, then month by month.
Forum posters consistently describe April on Ambergris Caye as hot and dry, with average daily highs around 31C and overnight lows around 24C. Posters are direct that although rainfall is very low this time of year, a few days can still bring rain - typically overnight or early morning, or a brief afternoon shower, with the rest of the day staying sunny and fine. Posters consistently emphasize it doesn't rain every day and there are no all-day downpours to worry about. Posters generally rate April as one of the better months to visit San Pedro, with good, reliable weather for diving and beach days.
San Pedro's forum says October weather can be genuinely nice, with wind being the bigger day-to-day factor than rain itself - a typical day still runs sunny, hot and humid. When rain does show up it's usually overnight or a brief afternoon shower, rarely an all-day downpour, and posters were consistent it rarely derails plans. October is technically the tail end of hurricane season, but actual hurricanes hit only about once every five years on average, and several locals specifically recommended the month for the slow-season deals and quieter island.
