Alaska's forum rates June as genuinely one of the best months — less rain than July or August, wildflowers and baby animals out, and fewer crowds than high summer. May and June are the dry months, July and August the wet ones, and the clear weather tends to return at the very end of August into September. July in Anchorage runs from overcast, cool and rainy to bright and sunny, and regulars are honest that the best weather often comes earlier, in May and June.
