Gezginlerin kendi yazdıklarından gerçek deneyimler; orijinaline bağlantı verilerek alıntılandı.

practical

We were told firmly by the guards not to splash or try to swim the moment we got in, since the density of the water makes floating effortless but also makes normal swimming strokes useless and awkward. Leaning back and just relaxing was the trick, our legs kept trying to float up no matter what we did. We'd shaved the morning before without thinking and the salt found every tiny nick within seconds, a mistake we won't repeat. The mud mask, left on for about five minutes before rinsing off in the sea, left our skin feeling noticeably smoother for days afterward. Water shoes were essential on the rocky, salt-crusted shore.

Lut Gölü için gezgin notları

Gidenlerin orası hakkında söyledikleri — önce yıl boyu geçerli notlar, sonra ay ay.

Dead Sea forum threads describe January as mild by the standards of Jordan's wider winter, with daytime temperatures typically in the high teens Celsius and posters noting the Dead Sea and Aqaba both stay noticeably warmer than colder inland spots like Amman and Petra this time of year. Sea water temperature was cited around 24C in late December and early January, comfortable enough for floating, especially in the afternoon after the sun has warmed it further, though some posters reported cooler readings depending on conditions. Rain was described as light and generally not disruptive, while snow was called a genuine rarity - roughly once a year at most, and when it does happen it can disrupt travel plans for a few days.

Regulars explain this month with a depth rather than a latitude: more than four hundred metres below sea level, which keeps it warm when the highlands are not, and thick enough air that they quote roughly a fifth more oxygen than at the coast. So March here is where people come down to escape the cold in Amman, and the end of March into early April is the peak. They warn the month is unpredictable - it can be warm and sunny, cloudy, or briefly torrential - and put the end of it in the low twenties, which is our 22.6C over 16.5C. The water runs 22 to 30C across the year with March at the cool end. The record: 27.1mm across 6 days, 10.4 hours of sun and AQI 60.

Jordan's forum calls late March into April peak season at the Dead Sea for good reason — warm enough to float comfortably without the punishing summer heat, and it's also when Ammanis themselves head down to escape the cooler capital. Regulars note evenings still call for a layer, the desert cools fast once the sun's down.

May at the Dead Sea is early in the hot half and already hot: regulars give high-80s to low-90s Fahrenheit, which is our row's 31.7C average high, and call May one of the better months precisely because it usually stays under 35C. The water is a long way behind the air, around 21 to 23C in early May, and that is warm enough to float in comfortably - floating being the whole activity, since swimming here is a mistake. The advice attached is three to four litres of water a day, timing your float for early morning or late afternoon, and water shoes, because the bed is rock and sharp salt crystals. Regulars blame the dryness; our row's 52 percent humidity is milder than that word suggests, but a 34C feels-like makes the same point. The record: 23.4C nights, 1.5 precipitation days and 12.7 hours of sun.

Regulars are specific about how this heat differs from what it sounds like on paper: dry rather than humid, so the same number on a thermometer here feels less oppressive than it would in a humid city, and they compare it favourably against nearby Eilat on the Red Sea, which runs hotter still in June. The real warning is saved for July through September, making June the milder end of the hot season rather than its peak. Our row backs the dryness at 53.9 percent humidity, though the heat itself is real, 34.4C reading as 39C, over 25.7C nights. Rain is a non-factor, under a millimetre across less than a third of a day. Their practical advice is to slow down, drink water, and cover up rather than avoid the month outright - June is also before the summer crowds arrive. The record: 13 hours of sun, a 14.6 kph wind and AQI 66.

Dead Sea forum regulars call October, alongside spring, the best window of the year: weather “will be great in late October and early November,” with the Dead Sea basin's low elevation running warmer than the regional average of 20-25°C. The framing that repeats: “not uncomfortably hot but just right for sightseeing,” with rain — if it happens at all — landing as “short sharp spurts or spitting” rather than a real washout; some regulars report never seeing rain in October across several years of visits. Summer is named as genuinely too hot for the region, winter as properly cold, especially in the desert at night, which is what makes the shoulder seasons the consensus pick. Our record: 31.2°C days, 24.4°C nights and just 0.6 rain days — warm and essentially rain-free, matching the “best window of the year” read closely.

Regulars are specific that this basin runs roughly ten degrees warmer than Amman or Wadi Musa at the same time of year, genuinely comfortable here even as those higher-elevation spots turn chilly - a real reason to base part of a Jordan trip at the lowest point on earth this late in the season. Our row backs that warm, still-mild read, 25.7C over 20.3C nights, with rain light at 18.3mm across 4.4 days and humidity at 64 percent. Regulars are consistent swimming and floating remain genuinely comfortable this month, though a few cold, wet days can still mix in, worth checking the forecast rather than assuming guaranteed sun. This counts among the better months to visit overall according to regulars. The record: 9.1 hours of sun, an 11.1 kph wind and AQI 65.
