Petrovaradin Fortress dominates any visit to Novi Sad, and we deliberately went up in the late afternoon so we'd catch the light going gold over the Danube and then the sunset view from the ramparts, which was genuinely one of the best moments of the whole Serbia trip. Bus 3 got us there from the city center without any hassle, and half an hour inside the fortress walls was enough to see the highlights, including the clock tower with its hour and minute hands deliberately reversed so river fishermen could read the time from a distance. Downtown itself, with its Austro-Hungarian facades, was completely walkable and felt safe at any hour we were out.

Kata mereka yang pernah ke sana — catatan sepanjang tahun lebih dulu, lalu bulan demi bulan.
Forum posters cite average March daytime highs around 10C for Serbia generally, moderately windy but not particularly rainy, with roughly a quarter to a third of days seeing some rain. Posters describe real year-to-year variability, though - one visitor's March trip found snow covering the ground even without especially freezing temperatures, illustrating how unpredictable early spring can be here. Posters generally describe Serbian spring weather as capable of swinging from mild to genuinely cold with snow, sometimes within the same visit. Posters generally rate March as a workable but weather-variable time to visit Novi Sad, recommending layers and flexible plans rather than assuming settled spring conditions this early in the season.
Forum posters describe mid-September as warm, sunny and pleasant - low-to-mid 20sC - with occasional rain and noticeably chillier evenings as sunlight hours shrink through the month; checking a short-range forecast before arrival is the standard advice given the real chance of a rainy stretch. Posters do note Novi Sad is at its liveliest in summer proper, when the fortress and riverside can be enjoyed at length in warm evening air, so September trades some of that peak-season energy for milder daytime temperatures and thinner crowds. A quick suburban bus ride out to nearby Sremski Karlovci gets recommended as an easy add-on for anyone with an extra half day.
