Hvor travlt der er på selve stedet — skoleferier og masseferier, de måneder en redaktør har markeret, og hvor eftertragtet vejret gør dem. Aldrig en del af komfortscoren.

practical

We booked a place near Session Road specifically so we could walk to the cathedral, Burnham Park, and the public market without needing transport, and it made the whole stay far easier to plan day to day. The cool climate, somewhere between 15 and 25 degrees, was the main draw after weeks of lowland heat elsewhere in the Philippines, and boating on Burnham Park's small lake turned into a relaxed afternoon we hadn't planned for. We drove out to La Trinidad to hand-pick strawberries at a farm, which was worth the short detour on its own. The Night Market got crowded enough that we kept bags zipped and phones in front pockets the whole time we browsed.

Noter fra rejsende om Baguio

Hvad folk, der har været der, siger om stedet — noterne for hele året først, derefter måned for måned.

Baguio is the Philippines' cool-climate exception, and February is the forum's pick: late November to February is the window, with December to February the coldest stretch — one poster reckons the nights beat air conditioning. Days sit near 22°C and nights near 14, and because the city is highland the humidity and sticky air are far less than Manila or anywhere close to the ocean. February also dodges the crowds: March to May is typhoon-free but peak season and packed at weekends. The record still shows rain on about ten days, so "drier season" here is a relative claim.

Forum posters consistently describe August as squarely within Baguio's wet, typhoon-prone season, with one estimate citing around 750mm of rain across the month - genuinely heavy by any measure. Posters are direct that Baguio, known as the Philippines' coolest city, sees August temperatures typically 16-23C, cool enough that heating indoors still isn't necessary despite the rain. Posters consistently recommend a jacket, umbrella and a spare pair of shoes as standard August packing, while reassuring visitors that rain doesn't fall continuously all day - there's still real time to get out and enjoy the city between showers. Posters generally rate August as workable for a Baguio visit, cool temperatures and rain gear making it manageable despite the genuinely substantial rainfall.
