We relied on Ola for getting around the city, transparent pricing that made budgeting far easier than negotiating with auto-rickshaws every ride. The Aga Khan Palace gave us real context for India's independence movement that we hadn't expected from what looked like a simple architectural stop. Hiking up to Sinhagad Fort just outside the city rewarded us with sweeping views once we reached the top, though the climb itself was steeper than the photos suggested. FC Road became our regular spot for cheap, excellent Misal Pav and Vada Pav from street vendors, a sharp contrast to the more polished dining scene around Koregaon Park. We visited in winter specifically to avoid the wet season other travelers warned us about.
