We stayed near Station 2 for the restaurants and bars but made a point of walking down to Station 3 most afternoons, where the crowds thinned out considerably and the same white sand and palm trees felt noticeably calmer. Arriving on the beach a good half hour before sunset was necessary to actually get a decent spot, and we kept a light jacket in our bag since the evening breeze off the water picked up fast once the sun dropped. We visited in February, squarely in the dry season, and never lost a beach day to weather. Reef-safe sunscreen and a dry bag for our phones during island-hopping trips turned out to be the two packing items we were most glad we'd brought.

Regulars name the northeast Amihan monsoon, running roughly November through February, as generally bringing cooler, clearer weather and calm seas, though they're honest this month can still bring a heavy rain spell and a genuinely windier stretch than the season's easy reputation suggests. Our row backs that warm, genuinely wet and windy read, 26.7C over 25.3C nights, with a substantial 216.6mm of rain across nearly 24 days and a real 37 kph wind. Regulars are consistent overall this remains a genuinely good month to visit despite that variability, less humid than the wet-season months and comfortable temperatures the norm. The sea sits at a warm, swimmable 27.4C even with the wind kicking up chop. The record: 8.7 hours of sun, humidity 82 percent and AQI 34.
February is the settled end of Boracay's amihan, the north-east monsoon that runs from about November to February or March and brings cooler, clearer weather, light breezes and calm water - 25 to 32C on the forum's reckoning, against our row's 26.7C and a 35.8 kph wind that is the season's signature. It is also the most reliable weather of the Philippine year and the height of the season. The thing to time is the algae: green algae season runs roughly February to May, and regulars say it typically appears at the end of February, with November, December and January clear. Late February into early March is the window they name, and it sits right on that edge. The record: 25.1C nights, 17.3 precipitation days carrying 130.2mm and a 26.9C sea.
Boracay's forum rates March as the best of the March-April-May trio — sunny, hot, humid, but with the chance of a typhoon almost zero and crowds lighter than April and May. Regulars flag algae as an occasional nuisance worth checking current reports for, and note the sea breeze off the island keeps the heat more bearable than the raw temperature suggests.
April is Philippine summer and the Boracay forum explains the island's weather by which monsoon is running. The amihan - easterly, moderate, little falling - holds from about September or October until May or June; the habagat that follows is westerly, hot, humid and wet. April sits at the settled end of amihan, with the winds easing, and statistically a better bet than May for staying dry. On crowds the advice is precise: the island is busy because it is summer, but the only genuinely overwhelming stretch is Holy Week, so aim for the first week of April. The record: 28.4C days that feel like 33C, 26.6C nights, 15.5 precipitation days, a 28.8C sea and a 28 kph breeze.
Regulars call this the transition month as the dry season that runs from mid-February gives way to June's monsoon, and opinions split on how it feels: one names it their favourite month of the year, others warn the rains have occasionally arrived early. Our row leans toward the wetter read, 169mm across 23.1 days at 81.6 percent humidity - frequent rather than constant, the tropical pattern this project keeps finding - with 29.1C reading as 34C over 27C nights. High season proper ends late in the month, so crowds thin as the rain risk rises, a fair trade for many visitors. The sea holds a warm 30.1C. The record: 10.8 hours of sun, a 24.9 kph wind and AQI 30.
Forum posters describe September as squarely in the wet season, with June-September also the peak typhoon-risk window generally, though the more severe typhoon-strength hits over a 12-year stretch cited by one poster actually landed in June and December rather than September specifically. Real visitor experiences vary widely: one 16-day September stay saw mostly cloudy days with only about an hour of rain total and otherwise great beach conditions, while another visitor's first four days brought torrential rain before the next four turned gorgeous. Posters are consistent that even in the rainy season, an entire day of nonstop rain is unusual outside of an actual storm system - a passing hour of rain within an otherwise normal day is the more typical September pattern.
Boracay-forum threads on November weather and crowds describe a genuine hit-or-miss month: still technically inside typhoon season, though storms this late tend to affect the northern Philippines more than the island itself, and the season is generally considered over by early December. Trip reports vary widely - one visitor's late-October-into-November stay saw only a brief drizzle and mostly clear skies, while another reports weather noticeably improving from mid-November onward, sunny days and clean beaches taking over from an unsettled start. Crowds are thin through November, a real advantage over the December surge, with hotel rates still at their lower off-season level. Regulars steer visitors who can shift dates toward the back half of the month for better odds. The record: 28C days feeling like a sticky 31C, 26.2C nights, a notably high 300mm across 26.7 days, 83 percent humidity, a 29.4C sea and 9.1 hours of sun - a far wetter month than the improving-weather framing implies.
